Learning this could save someone\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>[Text appears on lined paper that says, \u201cSpotting Signs of Suicide\u201d]<\/p>\n<p>A person thinking about suicide may tell jokes about taking their life, obsess over death or not care what happens to them.<\/p>\n<p>[Doodles and the words \u201cMay tell jokes,\u201d \u201cObsess over death\u201d and \u201cNot care or withdraw\u201d appear]<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re worried, talk to them about it.<\/p>\n<p>[A mobile phone appears showing a text conversation that says, \u201cYou seem really down lately. What\u2019s going on?\u201d They text back, \u201cI think the world would be better off without me\u2026\u201d \u201cAre you thinking about suicide?\u201d]<\/p>\n<p>Tell the person you care and are there to listen and help.<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s OK to ask the person if they\u2019re thinking about suicide. Asking does not make it more likely they\u2019ll consider suicide or \u201cgive them the idea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[The mobile phone vibrates as it makes a call]<\/p>\n<p>If the person is thinking about suicide, and gives you information on how or when they\u2019ll act, get help immediately.<\/p>\n<p>[Text appears above the mobile phone that says, \u201cHey, it\u2019s me.
